DescriptionEdit

Hydro ThunderEdit

Damn the Torpedoes is a good introductory boat for racing. Although it is slower than most boats in speed and Mighty Hull activation time, it is ideal for the beginning racer.

Hydro Thunder HurricaneEdit

A well balanced beginning hydroplane with a unique twin-hulled design. It gets sideways in turns but fairs well in the air. It also features the best top speed in its class.

Hydro ThunderEdit

Damn the Torpedoes is a good boat in the Easy tier, with great handling, but below average speed and Mighty Hull activation time. An excellent choice for the Easy tracks.

TriviaEdit

  • DTT's racing number, which is 20, carried over to Hydro Thunder Hurricane.
  • It shares the Modified Open classification with Thresher, as the both of them are catamarans.
  • The Silva trek motors are named after Brian Silva, who was not only an artist on the Hydro Thunder development team, but was also the game's voice talent.
  • Damn the Torpedoes is a phrase meaning to continue ahead with the planned course of action in spite of the known risks. It came from the famous phrase uttered by David Farragut, an officer in the Union navy during the American Civil War, after receiving a warning of torpedoes (water mines) ahead.
  • Damn the Torpedoes being described as a hydroplane in its description in Hurricane is somewhat of a misnomer. It is still a catamaran in physical appearance.
